Professional Biography
Dr. Gianluca D’Angelo is a specialist physician at Bloor Pain Specialists, dedicated to providing advanced, non-surgical solutions for chronic pain. Raised in Etobicoke, he began his academic career at the University of Toronto before earning his medical degree from Trinity College Dublin.
Dr. D’Angelo’s clinical expertise is backed by rigorous international training, including an Anesthesiology residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University and a prestigious Interventional Pain Management fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists and licensed by the CPSO to practice in Ontario.
His passion for the field was sparked during his time as a research assistant at the University Health Network (UHN). There, he focused on the development of chronic pain following breast cancer surgery, specifically studying the complex biopsychosocial factors that influence long-term recovery. By combining a deep understanding of the patient’s experience with precise, minimally invasive procedures, Dr. D’Angelo helps his patients bridge the gap between chronic suffering and functional recovery.
